It has been about 4 years since I took my family to the Woodland Park Zoo. They had so much fun. I think we saw just about every animal there.
Dance Portraits
I’ve been pretty busy this past month. I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the school portraits for my children’s dance school. It was so fun to see all the recital costumes and work with the dancers. It was my first time doing bulk photos like that, and I think it went pretty well. Are there things I’d do differently next year, sure. But it was awesome and I love so many of the photos. So, I’m going to share some with you.

Best Friends Photoshoot
It’s always sad when best friends have to move away. These two have been friends since they were 3. They’ve been together through preschool, elementary school, middle school, dance class, church…you name it. They love to hang out and have fun together, so we all went to the beach (and built a driftwood fort), to the park, and then a playground. Miss you already miss S.
Dance Photoshoot – Camano Island Photography
I am so excited to be able to share these photos. I had to wait until one was chosen for the dance recital posters. Abby and Karsten are very attractive dancers, and look so cute together in photos. Abby and I had some fun with different outfits and props until Karsten got off work for the poster shoot. The above photo was the one chosen for the posters. And if you want to see them perform live, you can see them at the Everett Civic Auditorium on June 27th.
Fine Art Portrait of My Boy
My oldest boy doesn’t usually like having his picture taken. Most of the photos I have of him over the years are blurs and backs of heads. Or I bribe him with something to get him to sit or stand in a place I want. But, last week he actually volunteered to let me take his photo while I was playing around with my studio lights. I am so glad he did 🙂
Skagit Valley Tulip Festival
Every year I look forward to the Tulip Festival. The fields come alive with color. Sometimes we get beautiful sunny days to enjoy them, but mostly it’s a bit muddy out there. I love photographing the flowers, and my kids with the flowers. This year the flowers bloomed early and I took them to Roozengaarde, the garden and fields of the Washington Bulb Company. It was cloudy, but not rainy or even windy (which it often it). We had a lot of fun, and I am already thinking about going again.
