One of my best friends lives in an Eastern Washington area called the Palouse. I, having lived most of my life on the western side of the state, think of this area as very empty, lonely, and all around brown. Well, the brown part is actually true during the late summer. But the other part, not so much. There are lots of farms, and little cell phone reception, but there are also lots of great little communities. I really enjoyed my visit with my friend, and even enjoyed the landscape a little. And hey, without all the city lights, the night sky is amazing to see.
